Lyostat2 is Biopharma Technology Limited
(BTL)’s specialist freeze-drying microscope for analysis of freeze-drying solutions.
Lyostat2 systems have been used extensively in-house to analyse 100s of different formulations from
small drug molecules to large complex biomolecules, for pharma, biotech, vaccine and diagnostic companies
worldwide.
Lyostat2 enables the quick and accurate identification of key parameters in your formulation, such as
collapse, eutectic and glass transitions. Real-time images of your product as it is freeze-dried, along
with sample temperature and chamber pressure, are displayed on-screen for monitoring and analysis. Plot
information of temperature and pressure can be viewed, saved and exported to applications such as Excel
for further investigation. The information returned by Lyostat is invaluable for designing safe and
efficient freeze drying cycles.
We currently have one pre-owned Lyostat2 available for sale.
The system includes cryostage, temperature programmer, cooling system, video capture, workstation
and Olympus BX-51 microscope. A vacuum pump is also required for operation and can be supplied with
vacuum control if one is not available. Installation and training by experienced Biopharma staff can
also be arranged as an optional extra. The system is shipping tested and validated, but IQ/OQ services
are also available is required.
