At SP Industries' international sales meeting in the USA this June, Biopharma Process Systems was presented with
a prestigious award. The award for “European Distributor of the Year” was presented by Mr Chuck Grant, Chairman and CEO of SP,
in recognition of the consistent growth and high levels of customer support Biopharma has shown over the years and the expertise
and knowledge Biopharma continues to demonstrate.
Biopharma’s relationship with SP Industries began back in 1993 when we became UK & Ireland distributor for VirTis,
part of the SP group. The VirTis range offered basic bench-top flask drying systems and single-shelf benchtop units, to
free-standing laboratory and pilot-scale production with modern 21CFR11 and cGMP capabilities. VirTis systems are capable of
simulating much larger production scale systems and therefore complimented Biopharma's existing range of production freeze dryers well.
In 2007 SP also purchased FTS Systems, whose internationally renowned brands include Lyostar freeze dryers, unique SMART
freeze-drying technology, and BioCool controlled-rate freezers, and Biopharma included these products into its expanding portfolio.
FTS’ track record of innovation and solid design engineering have fitted in well with both SP’s and Biopharma’s existing products.
Biopharma has come to be well known for trusted expertise in freeze drying even outside the UK and Ireland and this award is a
recognition of our continued success. We would also like to take the opportunity to thank all our customers for their continued support
for Biopharma and SP products which have helped us to achieve this recognition.
