New: Entry-Level Vial Washer from PennTech

July 2006

Biopharma is pleased to announce the release of a new entry-level rotary vial washer from PennTech Machinery Corp, the RW-500.

The RW-500 is designed as an efficient alternative to labour-intensive batch style washers and is ideal as an upgrade for existng semi-automatic batch washers.

The RW-500 is the smaller sister of the established innovative "nozzle-free" RW-800 and RW-1500 washers but is designed for low-output aseptic processing, such as small-scale clinical batches. Vial sizes of 2ml-100ml can be handled at a rate of up to 100 per minute, depending on vial size. It can be employed as a stand-alone vial washer of in combination with a streilization/depyrogenation tunnel for continuous processing.

All RW washers are designed to be simple in operation, self-draining, with no moving parts in the washing area and minimal maintenance requirements. An easily removed one-piece transparent polycarbonate cover permits easy visual verification of the flow of washing media.

Each vial neck format has its own dedicated set of change parts to optimise cleanliness, with a changeover easily manageable in under 15 minutes. All other changeover requirements, such as outfeed pusher movement and number of indexes per minute, are automatic and under PLC control.

Options include intermittent spraying packages to optimise the quantity of WFI used and minimise running costs.
