Biopharma Process Systems is pleased to introduce a range of high pressure homogenisers from BEE International.
BEE International was established in 1994 for the sole purpose of advancing the technology of homogenization
and has since developed innovative high pressure homogenizing equipment for the pharmaceutical, biotech and
chemical industries.
High pressure homogenizers allow research scientists and manufacturers to break down droplets and particles
into sizes below one micron. Other commercial homogenisation methods such as wet milling and piston gap can
prove to be problematic. With these other methods it more difficult to control the individual forces that
control the homogenisation process - impact , shear and cavitation. High pressure homogenisation controls these
forces and also avoids the problems of fractionation.
DeBEE patented innovative technology
Particle size and distribution are determined by the consistency of flow and pressure applied, so DeBEE
intensifiers are hydraulically actuated and microprocessor controlled to ensure precision and efficiency. BEE’s
patented modular and configurable homogenizing cell has no wearing or moving parts and allows the user to
quickly change the homogenising cell to meet any of their processing requirements. Overcavitation and backpressure
within the fixed interaction zone can dramatically impair the particle size reduction and so to overcome these
limitations BEE has developed the modular and configurable Absorption Cells . These can be optimised according
to operating conditions and process objectives by a combination of length, diameter and other parameters.
Flexibility
The DeBEE systems are able to handle different difficult feeds whatever your process requires. A Dual Feed
option allows sequential addition of raw materials. If maximum shear and maximum processing are required in
one pass the Reverse Flow and Dual Jet options can be used.
BEE International’s product line covers laboratory applications to high volume pilot plant systems that scale
up linearly from laboratory units. BEE homogenizers are commonly used for particle size reduction, fine emulsions,
cell disruption, nanoparticles and micro-encapsulating along with general blending and mixing.
