Freeze drying offers a number of benefits for the preservation of high
value biotech products. The precise control of process conditions offered by more
sophisticated systems enables all the processing conditions to be regulated. Avoidance of high
temperatures is particularly important when dealing with sensitive biological products such as
tissues and proteins, while manipulation of the freezing stage allows the pore size of the dried
material to be tightly controlled.
The VirTis AdVantage Plus system offers advanced freeze drying performance in a convenient benchtop
footprint. This powerful unit provides up to three fluid-cooled shelves for accurate temperature control
as low as -70°C. The intuitive control system allows on-board storage of up to 16 multi-step freeze
drying programs and is also featured on larger models, allowing for quick and easy scale-up. PC software
is also available which provides historical trending and system synoptic. The software allows data storage
and manipulation to assist with batch recording and report writing.
