The 2-day courses were introduced in 2009 to provide more focused training for those
with a specific knowledge requirement. "Product and Process" focuses on the lab-based aspect of freeze drying,
from developing a formulation for freeze drying, analysis of the key thermal characteristics, and optimising
a safe but efficient cycle. "Design and Engineering" focuses on the technical aspects of freeze drying, for
those involved in large-scale production, maintenance engineers, and those in facilities management.
